Hello Soccer Fans!
The European Championship starts Friday, June 8th. I am attaching the complete TV schedule for ESPN, and you can find it here: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/fixtures/_/league/uefa.euro/european-championship?cc=5901. The games will be shown live at either 9 am or 11:45 am. All of the final group stage games will be on at 11:45 am and all knock out round games including the final will be on at 11:45 am. We will be taping all of the games so that we can reshow them in the evening. There are only two 9 am games that we will be opening up early for – Italy v. Spain on Sunday, June 10th at 9 am and France v. England on Monday, June 11th at 9 am. All other 9 am games will only be shown on tape delay after 11 am.
June 16th-19th will feature the final group stage games with two live games each day, one on ESPN, one on ESPN2. There will be no games on June 20th. June 21st-24th will feature the 4 quarterfinal match ups with the semis on June 27th and 28th. The final will be Sunday, July 1st at 11:45 am.
Check the attachment for all of the match ups. The lunch time game on Friday the 8th is Russia v. Czech Republic. Saturday the 9th at 11:45 am is Germany v. Portugal and Sunday at 11:45 am is Ireland v. Croatia. It will be a great tournament with many memorable match ups.
Friday, June 8th is also the first day of World Cup Qualifying for the Concacaf group stage. The USA will play Antigua and Barbuda at 4 pm. The big game will be Tuesday, June 12th away to Guatemala. The game is only available on pay per view, but it is available to residential customers. We’ll have the game on live at 7 pm. We are not charging a cover as long as you are wear US Soccer gear or colors. The pub will only be open to US Soccer fans. I am expecting a completely full house and I expect the pub to fill up early. I will be setting up an additional big screen TV on the patio to increase our viewing area.
That does it for now. Look for updates during the EURO tournament. We’ll see you soon for some great football and beer. Cheers, Tom
